‎"Sarah Palin said Obama should stop 'pussyfooting around' and release the photos. Yes, because the guy who ordered the SEALs into a sovereign country without permission and killed public enemy number one is a pussy, and the woman who quit her job as the governor of a state with no people after half a term and won't do an interview with anyone but Greta Van Susteren is a bad-ass. Right."

What If Bristol Were In The Crosshairs?

Okay, I'm sorry. I can't fucking let it go... Boehner skips memorial for Ariz. shooting victims

He skipped the memorial for a cocktail party.

That damn orange Oompa-Loompa.

He's too busy being orange and crying all his mascara off that he doesn't have any sense.

And I'm not a huge fan of Howard Stern, but about this, he's right:

What If Bristol WERE In The Crosshairs? Sarah Palin would go APE SHIT.

I told Will after this all erupted, what if she (and the other people in influential positions) just had a humble response? What if they just found some humility and said, "This is horrible. I know that my voice and the symbols I've used didn't DIRECTLY cause this tragedy, but I'm horrified to think that they may have influenced someone who was mentally impaired. I wasn't thinking... I've shown poor judgment. This should be our wake-up call. It should be MY wake-up call. That I should remember how much damage words can do. That even though I don't agree with the policies being enacted by this president and this congress, I need to be more civil. And the inflammatory rhetoric really needs to stop. What the hell was I thinking..."

I fuck up ALL THE TIME. I say stupid things, I do stupid things, I can get mad for silly reasons, I laugh inappropriately often (I'm the first one to laugh at a funeral - I'm not proud of it, I'm just sayin'). And I don't blow away in the wind when I do, and I don't blow away in the wind when I admit it.

What the hell is wrong with admitting to fucking up? It's actually empowering and liberating to do so... It lifts a bizarre burden that we put upon ourselves that smells of a delusion of perfection.

I know, I'm dreaming. That would mean she and they are actually decent and logical and humble people. That they lean toward reason and something rational. That's not their primary motive, so why on earth should I ever expect it.

The fervor in this above clip is completely disturbing... What a bunch of far right wing nut-jobs.

Exactly. WHO are the terrorists now...

Where Greed Lives and Innocence Dies

THIS TIME... A 9 Year Old Little Girl Died. And this violent rhetoric, coming from certain high-profile individuals, from certain "news" networks; to sell books, to get ratings, to sell ads from those ratings... To sell, sell, sell...

And even though it's actually never existed now or in recorded human history, people talk about how evil communism is... As though capitalism is better. HOW is it better?

Remember, capitalism and democracy are two different things. One is not necessary for the other.

I'm not a communist. By glaring example, I don't think humans are capable of it at this point in our evolution. The idea is there. And then delusion sets in and it becomes something else. It becomes totalitarian.

But, I do believe in strong social ideals. I believe in a true democracy with strong socialistic programs. I believe in helping my fellow citizen, helping my neighbors. Knowing that we're all in this together, that the better off they are, the better off I'll be. So, in actuality, it's kind of selfish. But, still... That's what I believe. That's how I try to live.

Just watching greed in action - from Wall Street, to the Health "Care" Insurance Murderers, to the violent language perpetrators, I'm left wondering how "good" capitalism really is... when at its very core, greed lives.

I'm sorry. I'm venting. Even though I'm not surprised by this tragedy, I'm still reeling from it...

It Doesn’t Matter Why He Did It By George Packer, The New Yorker, January 9, 2011

... the tragedy wouldn't change this basic fact: for the past two years, many conservative leaders, activists, and media figures have made a habit of trying to delegitimize their political opponents. Not just arguing against their opponents, but doing everything possible to turn them into enemies of the country and cast them out beyond the pale. Instead of “soft on defense,” one routinely hears the words “treason” and “traitor.” The President isn't a big-government liberal—he's a socialist who wants to impose tyranny. He's also, according to a minority of Republicans, including elected officials, an impostor. Even the reading of the Constitution on the first day of the 112th Congress was conceived as an assault on the legitimacy of the Democratic Administration and Congress

This relentlessly hostile rhetoric has become standard issue on the right. (On the left it appears in anonymous comment threads, not congressional speeches and national T.V. programs.) And it has gone almost entirely uncriticized by Republican leaders. Partisan media encourages it, while the mainstream media finds it titillating and airs it, often without comment, so that the gradual effect is to desensitize even people to whom the rhetoric is repellent. We’ve all grown so used to it over the past couple of years that it took the shock of an assassination attempt to show us the ugliness to which our politics has sunk.

... Whatever drove Jared Lee Loughner, America's political frequencies are full of violent static.

Crosshairs

She used crosshairs. Full-text of Palin's hateful Facebook post, which she calls a "first salvo," is here.

Hold Palin accountable for hate speech Peter Rosenstein, Washington Blade, January 08, 2011

"I add my thoughts and prayers to the outpouring of sympathy for the families of those who lost their lives and for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ family now praying for her recovery. I share the outrage that all decent people must feel today at this heinous act of violence that left so many dead and Congresswoman Giffords severely injured.

Sarah Palin and those like her using hate-filled language and symbols of violence can no longer escape responsibility for the anger and violence their words and actions incite. The time has come for everyone, on both sides of the political spectrum, to stand up to and shut down those who don’t understand what words mean and how they can incite others to violent acts..."

An Actual Nightmare

I've written before about my nightmares. And before that as well. AND I've written about bullshit Monsanto before and all the hell they're causing.

So, after another night-thrashing a week or so ago, in the morning when I awoke I said to Will, "I had another nightmare, didn't I?"

And he looked at me wearily (because I'm sure it's never fun to be woken up in the middle of the night by someone who's moaning and sweating and screaming when it has NOTHING to do with sex or food) and replied, "Yes... What was this one about?"

I think he fully expected me to say that something "evil" was in the room, or that

Sarah Palin and

Michele Bachmann were scissoring at the foot of the bed. Well, same thing as "evil", I guess. (Although... Now that I think of it, there is something a little sick in me that would like to see those two scissor. Maybe while I throw hot coals at them.)

But no... I was a little embarrassed at what the nightmare was REALLY about and sheepishly said, "It was about 'Monsanto' and genetically modified food."

He crinkled his brow and looked at me like I was retarded and then we both started laughing over how silly that seemed. And then, the sad irony set in that it was actually something fairly logical to have a nightmare about, for once.

I think when we hear stock-phrases, "sayings" in our society long enough, we don't really give them any real thought. We say them off-the-cuff (Origins of the word - 1940-45. Speakers sometimes noted down some of the last minute points/ideas, which they wished to include in their speech, on the cuffs of their shirts. While they were speaking they would quickly look at the cuff and carry on.) and move on. I think that even in our language, familiarity breeds contempt. A disregard for the origins and meanings of these phrases.

Because the stock-phrase: You ARE what you eat.? Couldn't be truer.

But, how many of us literally stop and think that what we eat and drink, what we CONSUME becomes us? We think of food as "fuel". Gasoline doesn't become the car. Oil doesn't seep into the doors and the hood and the tires of the truck. Oh sure, it keeps the engine greased and without it, the vehicle wouldn't run. And yes, food is a source of energy as well and without it, we wouldn't run. But to us it's also something different. It's a basic element of our being. And truly, how many of us stop and think about how what we ingest, actually becomes our cells, our skin, our brain... It doesn't just go in our pie-hole and come out our corn-hole.

It's actually something sacred to our very lives.

Just some food for thought. (This metaphoric phrase, transferring the idea of digestion from the stomach to mulling something over in the mind, dates from the late 1800s, although the idea was also expressed somewhat differently at least three centuries earlier. - source)

Enough of tainting our natural world and wreaking havoc literally on our being.

NOW, You're Angry?

Well, welcome to the party.

Message to the Tea Party: -- What took you so long to get angry?

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President. You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy and push us to invade Iraq. You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed. You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed. You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us. You didn't get mad when we spent over $800 billion (and counting) on said illegal war. You didn't get mad when Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 Presidents combined. You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars in cash just disappeared in Iraq. You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people. You didn't get mad when Bush embraced trade and outsourcing policies that shipped 6 million American jobs out of the country. You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans. You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden. You didn't get mad when Bush rang up 10 trillion dollars in combined budget and current account deficits. You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed. You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans, drown. You didn't get mad when we gave people who had more money than they could spend, the filthy rich, over a trillion dollars in taxbreaks. You didn't get mad with the worst 8 years of job creations in several decades. You didn't get mad when over 200,000 US citizens lost their lives because they had no health insurance. You didn't get mad when lack of oversight and regulations from the Bush Administration caused US citizens to lose 12 trillion dollars in investments, retirement, and home values.

No . . . You finally got mad when a black man was elected President and decided that the people of America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.

Illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, job losses by the millions, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, and the worst economic disaster since 1929 are all okay with you, but helping fellow Americans who are sick . . . Oh, Hell No!!

Just a little bit of that darn thing called "History". It's a bugger if you pay attention to it.

And I'm so tired of that daft idiot Sarah Palin.

She's so fucking stupid I can't believe it. I just can't...

She should really be working at Walmart as a greeter. Or reviewing cosmetics for the Home Shopping Network. OR, just looking for shiny objects.
