What You Buy Matters...

So, I don't really know how to write this without sounding like a fruitcake. But I AM a fruitcake; a Proud-Mary-Keeps-On-Rollin' Fruitcake, so I guess that it's okay that I sound like one, right?

Or...Maybe it's appropriate that I sound like one, yes?

Yes. So, here it goes:

Mother Earth, it's obvious that she gives us life. That the water and air we breathe is because of her and the life that she sustains.

Not because of us. We don't give ourselves life. Although, we sure take it easy enough.

And I also believe that we're interconnected to not just one another, but to everything else. That it really is one big web of life. We're all fingers on the same hand...all limbs on the same body...all pubes on the same hair-pie.

And when I say, "everything", I mean EVERYTHING; rocks, trees, bugs and bees, mountains and peas, and unfortunately, Paris Hilton too. Although, her commercial reply to John McCain was pretty damn funny.

So, when I see people (corporations) pissing (so to speak) on our environment, I see that as pissing on my home. As pissing IN my home. And desecrating the natural world is truly an assault on our own well-being.

Plants and trees and every living being that gives us oxygen, gives us breath, are actually our lungs on the outside of our physical bodies.

And these corporations that wreak havoc on our world are supported by us, by our money. Much of the time, their practices are unbeknownst to us, of course, the ignorant, blissful consumer.

But, I've learned a lot in the last few years. Much of it, to my dismay...

So, I've chosen to get involved and be informed as much as possible. Because either way, I do make a difference. Whether that's a good difference or a bad one, I do.

So, I'm trying to make a good one.

The Problem With Palm Oil

And it would be GREAT if one of you other pubes on this giant fur-burger of life joined me.
