Home Safety and Lock Bumping

My Mother-out-law sent this to me about pieces of shit "Lock Bumping" their way into your home. When I followed the link to youtube, the videos next to this news clip were ones showing these pubic heads how to make "bump keys" and how to "lock bump".

One day I hope to be a pacifist. As I've said before, I certainly think that pacifists are more evolved than knuckle-dragging fighters. But, for the time being, I'm still dragging my knuckles through the dirt. I'm not proud of it, that's just the state of where I'm at right now. I'm working on it, but it's going to take some more time...and more booze...and more pot...and maybe some valium.

Until then, if someone "bumps" my lock, they'll look back with fondness on the day they had eyelids. It's not that I care about my possessions so much, but rather the safety of my family.

So, I just got off the phone with a police officer to check on the legitimacy of "lock bumping". He confirmed that it is in fact a legitimate concern. But also informed me that if you go to your local hardware store or lock smith, you'll be able to find a brand that can NOT be bumped. A couple of the brands that he recommended are: Schlage and Weslock.

Just some FYI.
