It's Called, "A Joke"
I don't know who said, "There's no influence like an example." I mean, besides myself, right now. I try to remember it and try to live by it - sometimes a bad example, sometimes a good one.
Well, I would like to recount for you the last two conversations with my brother Craig that I've had recently.
* 2 weeks ago we were talking about Mom and Dad's recent 3 week stay with us. We had a fantastic time. It was a gift and we truly enjoyed it. And I was expressing this to Craig. And then he says, "Dad didn't leave with a lisp did he?"
He's lucky that he was 2500 miles away.
And funny, I might not sound like the most macho-man around, but I DON'T have a lisp. Or a hair-lip. And I don't sashay. And neither does Will. However, it was pretty funny, I do have to give the fucker that. I responded, "NO, HE DIDN'T LEAVTHE WITH A LITHPE YOU ATHHOLE!"
* Then, this past Saturday we were talking about his oldest son, who happens to be in his freshman year in college. He's been offered a paid internship and a full ride to the University. It's in electrical engineering. Craig was trying to convince him that it would be better than getting a more general degree because he'd most likely be able to get a higher paying job easier.
So, he used ME as an example...of what NOT to do.
Craig; "Yeah, so I was telling him that 'look at Uncle Kev! He got his degree in Psychology where you just end up going into social work where you cap out in the high 20's and then you HAVE to go to graduate school (which isn't completely true) and then, then...you'll just end up GAY living in California!'"
We laughed, "HAHAHAHAHAHA!" and I wanted to punch him square in the face. But you see, I had to remind myself, it's called a joke. He was joking. My siblings are funny people and I love them. I still would've liked to punch him...or maybe trip him at the top of a flight of stairs, but it was funny.
And after all, I preach so much about "If you can't laugh at yourself, then you just left the job to someone else." So, if I can't be secure in myself and take a joke, to be a living example of humor and tolerance, how can I expect anyone else to be? Sometimes, it just takes a little bit of work to remind myself and not take it so damn seriously.
Speaking of which, the Kevin Federline commercial that has some people upset because it seems like they're poking fun at people who work in fast food? I'm not a fan of Kevin Federline, but I am a fan of making fun of people...harmlessly. The commercial is hysterical and it's really making fun of Kevin Federline. And people really need to start being a little more secure with themselves and learn how to take a fucking joke.
So, I CALL ON ALL FRENCH FRY (or Freedom Fry for the Nazi's in the group) WORKERS OF AMERICA TO CUT OUT ALL TRANS FATS AND LIGHTEN THE FUCK UP! Be an example, lighten up a little, laugh a little...it's okay. You're still going to be here. And stop taking life so seriously, you're never going to get out alive anyway. None of us are.
