A Game of Squash

"These are the values inspiring those brave workers in Poland... They remind us that where free unions and collective bargaining are forbidden, freedom is lost."

~ Ronald Reagan 1980

Michael Moore: People Still Have the Power

I always think it funny when people have such a strong opinion against Michael Moore and his work. And I usually reply, "Oh... What exactly is it you didn't agree with about what he said?"

And they get all huffy and say, "Well, I haven't seen his movies and I WON'T!! I CAN'T STAND HIM!!"

And they have NO IDEA why they don't like him. They have NO IDEA what he's saying or not saying because they never took the time to find out for themselves, let alone actually listen and contemplate the facts.

When people don't want to pay attention to WHAT's being said, they pay attention to who's saying it, or HOW it's being said. Anything but the actual content.

Heaven forbid we actually get to the true content of the matter.

I can't help thinking that if Michael Moore looked more like this,

that maybe he wouldn't be so polarizing... Or maybe people would be more willing to at least hear him out. Or lick him and give him a massage.

But seriously, if he looked like this (or the above guy with some clothes on),

I bet mainstream news would give him more coverage. I bet everyone would.

Union bill whizzing through Ohio Legislature

OOHH, YEAH???

WELL, speaking of "whizzing" and "Ohio Legislature"...

That's all I have to say about those shits.

A few of the world's past leaders and their policies towards trade unions:

‎* Stalin banned all free trade unions and outlawed strikes. * Mussolini gutted trade unions and put them under corporate and government control. * 1933: Hitler abolished collective bargaining, trade unions and arrested their leaders.
