LeBron James And King Kong's Dong

"NEW YORK - When Vogue announced its April cover starring LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen, the magazine noted with some fanfare that James was the first black man to grace its cover."

"But the image is stirring up controversy, with some commentators decrying the photo as perpetuating racial stereotypes. James strikes what some see as a gorilla-like pose, baring his teeth, with one hand dribbling a ball and the other around Bundchen’s tiny waist.

It’s an image some have likened to “King Kong” and Fay Wray."

"Magazine analyst Samir Husni believes the photo was deliberately provocative, adding that it “screams King Kong.”"

LeBron James Vogue cover criticized

"SCREAMS KING KONG", huh? Samir, you're a "magazine ANALyst", so I have a feeling that your opinion is in it for your job security.

I'm honestly offended by the remarks that this magazine cover likens LeBron James to King Kong.

We ALL know that King Kong DID NOT play basketball. Nor did he wear clothes and high tops. And EVERYONE KNOWS that he never could hold still long enough to look directly in the lens of the camera!

He was every directors nightmare.

But seriously, King Kong TRULY does NOT come to mind when I look at this magazine cover. Actually, I think that LeBron James is HOT. And yes, you're right, I had a crush on King Kong as well, but for different reasons.

I think that LeBron James is a hot, sexy piece of manz. And I loved King Kong for his personality. Yes, both are dark, screaming beings with blondes in those photos, but that's where the similarities end.

And I believe that the one with the problem is the one interpreting it as demeaning...insinuating that there are MORE similarities than there are. And the one interpreting it as such has far bigger problems...like cataracts.

"James told The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer he was pleased with the cover, saying he was “just showing a little emotion.”"

In fact, I can't believe that Samir actually had the audacity to come out and say that this "screams King Kong".

There is still SEVERE issues of racism in this country. And I do NOT mean to insinuate in any way that there isn't. But, I believe that we tread on precarious ground when some cry wolf too often. For I believe that it diminishes the validity of the real circumstances that DO scream of injustice.

I would like to think that I have an idea of what perpetuating stereotypes is all about. And when to scream "foul", and when not to.

In any case, I have a few examples that I believe Samir, Miss Husni if you're nasty, is missing out on. In fact, Samir, you might want to start consulting various individuals of who they're in danger of appearing like.

Let's start with the Olympic swimmer, Michael Phelps.

DON'T EVEN TELL ME THAT HIS IMAGE DOESN'T "SCREAM",

of beaver.

Come on, you can admit it.

It's okay. No one is going to judge you for saying so...

See? They might as well be the same.

Or how about the tennis star, Andy Roddick?

TELL ME that he doesn't look like,

a lemur.

There is just NO WAY you can convince me otherwise.

PLEASE! THAT AGILITY?? THAT SKIN TONE??

They're the same. In fact, they should just mate.

Or what about David Beckham?

So, I suppose that you're going to tell me that he DOESN'T resemble

this screaming hairless cat?

Whatever...

You're all liars if you say otherwise.

I mean, come on...Do you need more proof?

Okay,

ARE YOU CONVINCED NOW?? I bet David Beckham doesn't even use toilets. I bet he prefers litter boxes. And I also bet he's totally spraying in that above nudie pic of him.

Anyway, Samir, I'm offended that you think that Mr. James looks like "King Kong" in that photo. I believe that YOU are the one perpetuating stereotypes.

Now that I know you a little better, I believe that I found something that your image "screams" of,

But, that's just my interpretation.
