We're Okay

So, it hasn't been as bad as this;

But it's been close. I've been doped up on Benadryl, which I hate taking. But, if I don't, the smoke has been so bad, this is what I'll look like 24/7;

Except, I'm not Asian and I don't usually pull my hair back into a bun.

So, with the help of Benadryl, I've been in a walking coma and I'm only sneezing and coughing and gagging when I'm awake.

We're getting closer with the hair, nose and ethnic class here, but I would like to think that my arms and legs are a bit more muscular. And I have 5 fingers per hand. And I have a slightly bigger mouth. Oh, and I don't have a teal turtleneck, nor do I have turquoise stockings or a black mini...which reminds me I should get one.

It really has been nasty, but we've got it mild compared to the poor folks down south.

Will's aunt and uncle were evacuated to his cousin's home. Only to be evacuated from there a few hours later. We haven't heard from them recently, but we're keeping them in our prayers and we're sure they're okay...

The air has been thick and heavy, and hot and ashy. The sidewalks and roads are covered in a brown soot. The winds have died down, thankfully, but when they were blowing, even though we had all the windows and doors shut, there was ash and soot everywhere.

I found it under my toothbrush, in my contact case and on our counters. And of course, our boogers have been black. That's providing I have boogers...which I don't. And I don't fart or shit either. And my breath always smells of Lotus blossoms.

See? Benadryl also makes you delusional.

Anyway, I thought that I should really do a post letting you know that we're okay. Quite a few of you have written to me expressing concern, and I truly appreciate it. For the time being, we're fine. It seems better today, although they're still advising everyone to remain indoors and avoid any outside exercising.

It has been rather difficult to breathe and the air tastes gritty. And when I've been French-kissing on the neighbors, they've been tasting gritty as well.

In the below satellite image, we're in the middle/top portion, just to the left of the topmost fire, which is happening in Santa Clarita.

About a month ago, there was a local magazine that had the headline of "Local Hometown Heroes". And the "heroes" that they were talking about were fucking volleyball players.

I love playing volleyball. I love playing a lot of different sports. But, when I think of a true hero,

I guess I have something different in mind.
