Americans' LTML
Now, I'm not thrilled with the Democratic party lately, and I keep yapping my pie-hole about how desperately we need a strong, true MULTI-party political system and election reform. So, I've been thinking of jumping ship in the future to The Green Party. Oh sure, my vote might not "count" in some people's eyes, but I still believe in the ripple effect. I believe that individuals can lead to true change. That there's no greater influence as the example. And that once a few committed people venture out of the lines, that it's inevitable that those lines will be blurred from their foot steps trudging across the boundaries.
After all, everything starts somewhere.
But until then, for this approaching November election, is the alternative REALLY to go back to the conservatives?? REALLY?? As though President Obama's administration has wreaked all this havoc in the last two years???
Americans and their LONG-TERM-MEMORY-LOSS.
Are there really that many people in this country that are ADD (or ADHD), not to mention gullible, and uneducated? Passionate? Yes. But, unfortunately also delusional. The two don't make a nice combination and are too often married.
I keep trying to remind myself that the majority of people voted for Obama and change. I laughed when I saw the propaganda about the "majority" of Americans not wanting healthcare reform... If they hadn't wanted it, they wouldn't have voted for someone who was claiming that as a priority for their administration. The proof of the Nation's opinion was in the voting, not some bullshit that came from Republican rhetoric and advertising that was paid for by health insurance companies.
The majority voted for change, which IS happening, just not overnight. And would've happened (and would BE happening) if it weren't for the Republicans' stonewalling. So now, they're going to vote to go BACK?
Thank you, Meera, for the contribution of this video and the sobering reminder.
And the comment under the video that received the most "thumbs-up": "I've gotten two friends to agree to vote early, they're pretty politically apathetic but they at least agree that the average Tea Partier can barely be trusted not to shit their own pants, let alone run a country. Do your part!"

And another thing, when was the last time you heard a Republican say "Buy American"?
