The Re-Airing Of South Park's "Trapped In The Closet"

In the post below, I revealed that I really don't watch much TV. I just don't care for much that's on and I'd rather be reading or writing or contemplating the mess of existence to the brink of madness. But, that's just me.

However, I did manage to see the South Park episode of "Trapped In The Closet" where Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators, LAMBASTED Tom Cruise and Scientology back in the Fall. It was classic. CLASSIC. They even handled the credits brilliantly.

What I like about South Park is that Parker and Stone pick on EVERYONE. It's an across-the-board kind of fairness. They pick on the liberals as much as the conservatives. And albeit some material seems over the top, I respect that they go after everybody. After all, if you can't laugh at yourself, then you just left the job to someone else.

And for the record, I truly hope that Tom Psycho Cruise is NOT gay. WE. DON'T. WANT. HIM. We get a bad rap as it is, we don't need that nut-job.

The original re-airing of the episode was controversially pulled in the Spring leading to a whole lot of wrestling about censorship issues. Now that the episode has been nominated for an Emmy, it will be re-aired tonight on Comedy Central. If you're so inclined, you can check your local listings. You can read about all the controversy here and here.
